Notes

A squire and landowner in Tourouvre, other members of the family for several generations seemed to have been employed as crossbowmen for the King of England, and were living in London. Pierre appeared often in notarial records, taking care of business of buying and selling and renting property for his relatives (? uncles or brothers?) who were off in London.
King of England was Henry VIII until 1547, then came Edward VI from 1547 - 1553, then on his death, half-sister Mary I deposed his chosen heir to become queen.
He had a son, Jehan, who was noted as attending the university of Paris in one transaction.

My earliest European ancestors in North America were probably Nicolas Marsolet and Louis Hébert. However, one of my 8th great-grandmothers, the wife of Philippe Mius d'Entremont, was a Native North American of the Mi'kmaq tribe. Unfortunately, there is uncertainty about her name. She may have been called Kjipuktuk. In modern times, the name Marie Coyote Blanc has been assigned to her, but there is no evidence that this was actually her name. Her ancestors would obviously been in North America long before Europeans arrived.

The French-Canadian lines of my family tree can be confirmed by literaly thousands of DNA links that support the family tree as mapped out. And, due to a couple of lucky DNA links to 3rd cousins in Sweden, with well-documented family trees of their own, I can extend my Swedish roots back several centuries. The German links have proved much more difficult, and in most cases, I have been unable to trace my German ancestors much further back in time than their arrival in North America.
